I was banking on some of these attacks having an Iranian connection and more so through their Proxies Hezbollah in Lebanon.

We have a large Shia (Lebanese) base in Australia with strong links to Hezbollah as noted as pro Pally protests when Israel sent Nasrallah was to hell

Hezbollah are also heavily into the drug trade and people trafficking. 

However, I suspects it doesn't account for all the other antisemitic attacks that have occurred with businesses, home, cars and Ministers offices targeted. It also doesn't account for the intimidation of Jews on campuses or where they live. This group is much larger and harder to curb.

It’s actually a quite validating to watch the subreddit descend into blaming Israel and Mossad for this, despite our intelligence agencies finding evidence of Iran having involvement. Some on the left, that support Palestine and vehemently hate Israel, need to be introspective. It seems it is turning into the same antisemitism that the Jewish people have had to deal with for millennia.

If there wasn't solid evidence, they wouldn't be taking the drastic measures they are. They flat out state the attacks were traced backed to Iran and were very specific as well in which attacks they were behind, including that Iran is NOT responsible for all antisemitic attacks that have occured. If this was made up they would be far more vague plus this government has proven itself to be incredibly measured in the actions it takes so I doubt this decision was taken without strong evidence to back it.


Quite a few here should be ashamed of themselves coming up with cooked conspiracies instead. The governments job isn't to please redditors who frankly(and that includes myself) know very little about actually goes on behind the scenes but to make decisions based on the evidence and intelligence given to them.

I remember hanging out with the 'Occupy' people in Martin Place in 2012. It struck me how many employees of Iranian state media organisations were permanently camped out there, many actively participating in the political talks and providing logistical support like food, tables, AV equipment, etc. There didn't seem to be any other foreign media presence at all, even local reporters would just pop by if something crazy was happening and weren't actually involved. I had a pretty lengthy chat with a lady from "Press TV", she was very candid about who she worked for why she was there. I didn't think much about it at the time, but somehow it makes a lot of sense in hindsight. 

We like to think we're irrelevant over here, but we're actually the low hanging fruit if your ambition is the gradual dismantling of the western world.

I think it’s time for state governments and police forces to intervene and put a pause on all the pro-Palestine protests; the more recent ones are proving to be increasingly antisemitic. The Sydney Harbour Bridge one had people holding up images of the Iranian Supreme Leader; the Ayatollah Khamenei, while Brisbane’s protest featured Hamas flags. 

Australia has recognised the state of Palestine; and most people would probably agree that that’s a sensible endpoint. Any further protests I think are going to keep contributing to this antisemitism crisis and worsen division.

Seeing a lot of people asking "Why would Iran target us, it doesn't make sense", and ruling this to being some weird Mossad conspiracy theory, or not believing the intelligence ASIO has shared. If that's what you want to believe go for it, but at the end of the day it is well known that Iran, Russia, China etc. use social divisions in Western democracies to undermine social cohesion, increase tensions, polarise the electorate and propagate the election of populists to undermine their strong institutions. It has worked in the USA, it is happening right now in the UK and across Europe, though it hasn't worked here yet... But actions like this, regardless of who is the target, work to break down the strong multicultural fabric and trust we have in our institutions.

It is not a light move to expel an ambassador, but I think considering this Albo &amp; Wong are 100% in the right. At the end of the day, this is a foreign government plotting to attack Australian Citizens in Australia. It was not the goal of Iran to target synagogues and jews simply because they are Jewish, it is to seed societal divisions and cause a Knee-jerk government response, causing the public to lose further trust in the government/institutions. This is exactly what Minns did with his rushed hate speech laws. The fact that Jews were the target, is just gravy to Iran's sick view of the world.

Some of the comments on social media are genuinely cooked, the conflict happening in the middle east is tragic and Israel will answer to its war crimes. This does not give Iran and it's proxies free reign to terrorise the rest of the planet.

Just to be clear, local criminal gangs are being weaponized to perform acts for the IRGC in exchange for money. 

This is the same tactic that Russia uses globally as well. 

The actual diplomats keep their hands clean and they have plausibility of deniability.

The issue usually is that the dumb asses they hire to pull of these deeds are very stupid in how they go about executing their mission so they get caught and end up unraveling everything all the way to their handlers. 

There needs to be a global compact targeting such behaviour by diplomatic staff, because even countries like India have started using local criminal elements to target the Sikh diaspora in the US, UK and Canada.
